JOB TITLE: Warehouse Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY

Manages and maintains one Warehouse facility within a specific SBU. Responsible for the inventory and upkeep of tools and equipment. Supervises and assigns duties to specific Yard/Warehouse personnel. Achieves excellence in guaranteeing projects receive materials, tools, and equipment in a timely and ready-to-operate manner.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Leadership role in safety and training for warehouse employees.
• Ensures proper paperwork is done daily.
• Coordinate delivery and pickup of equipment and materials for multiple job sites.
• Order, maintain, stock, and disburse safety equipment including fall protection system devices, safety glasses, ear protection, hard hats, safety vests, etc.
• Responsible for understanding all tools/equipment in inventory.
• Responsible for taking delivery requests from job sites and coordinating with those job sites for delivery dates and times.
• Determine whether a tool or piece of equipment can be supplied in-house or needs to be rented.
• Manage all tool/equipment transfers and returns from job sites, including computer entries for costing to job sites. This includes data entry into the computer and Warehouse Management System.
• Schedule trucks and deliveries to job sites in the most efficient manner for overall warehouse operations.
• Manage logistics of equipment usage for both owned and rented equipment across job sites.
• Responsible to coordinate repairs to our own tools and equipment as appropriate or if more cost-effective coordinate most economical outside repair.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education/Experience:

• High school/trade school graduate or equivalent training.
• 2+ years of experience managing and operating tools, equipment, and warehouse.
• OSHA 30 trained or ability and willingness to obtain in a timely manner.

1. Skills/Competencies:

• Understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• High level of knowledge of New York State DOT regulations and procedures.
• Basic management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge and use of computer software. (i.e., email, spreadsheets, etc.).
• Excellent mechanical knowledge and ability to identify and evaluate malfunctioning equipment and tools and recommend corrective measures or repairs.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and produce deliverables in a time-sensitive environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision and balance abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
